چکیده

The aim of this study was to synthesize chemically activated carbons from different agricultural residues, i.e., pistachio shell (PS), bitter orange peel (OP), and saffron petal (SP), subsequently use them as supports for loading a Ni catalyst. Supercritical water gasification bio-oil applied investigate the catalytic performance resulting catalysts. physicochemical properties carbon (ACs) catalysts (Ni/ACs) were characterized with BET, XRD, XPS, TEM, TPD. adsorption results showed that ACs developed considerable pore structures, containing both micro- mesopores, which validated by well-distributed active phases on in TEM images. Furthermore, it found BET AC(PS) 1410 m2/g, higher than AC(OP) (1085 m2/g) AC(SP) (900 m2/g). obtained XRD mainly indicated presence nickel phosphides phases, confirmed XPS TPD analyses. tests raising process temperature, total amount gas hydrogen increased. Ni/AC(PS) superior activity. highest (i.e., 7.87 mmol/g bio-oil), together 37.2 vol.% H2, achieved using 1:10:100 catalyst:bio-oil weight ratio mass 1:10 (bio-oil/water) at T = 550 °C.

Recovery of Palladium from Spent Activated Carbon-Supported Palladium Catalysts

TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center, Chemistry Institute, 41470 Gebze, Kocaeli, Turkey Email: [email protected] Activated carbon-supported palladium catalysts are liable to progressive deactivation even in the absence of any gaseous contaminants during the oxidation of hydrogen under ambient conditions. The high value of palladium coupled with environmental considerations means that n...

Effect of Pt on Zn-Free Cu-Al Catalysts for Methanol Steam Reforming to Produce Hydrogen

Steam reforming of methanol can be considered as an attractive reaction aiming at hydrogen production for PEM fuel cells. Although Cu/Al-contained catalysts are considerably evaluated in this reaction, further evaluation is essential to evaluate the impact of some promoters like Pt in order to find a comprehensively optimized catalyst. Pt promoter is employed with different methods in this ...

Catalytic Decarboxylation of Fatty Acids to Aviation Fuels over Nickel Supported on Activated Carbon

Decarboxylation of fatty acids over non-noble metal catalysts without added hydrogen was studied. Ni/C catalysts were prepared and exhibited excellent activity and maintenance for decarboxylation. Thereafter, the effects of nickel loading, catalyst loading, temperature, and carbon number on the decarboxylation of fatty acids were investigated. The results indicate that the products of cracking ...
